Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Websites can also store information in your browser in other ways, such as local storage and session storage. This policy covers all of these, and calls them cookies for short. It explains which ones Loupe uses and how you can control them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data more generally.
Our approach
- Essential cookies are always on, because Loupe cannot work properly without them.
- Analytics load only after you agree. Until you choose, analytics stay off.
- We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not add social media tracking pixels to our pages.
Essential cookies
These cookies keep you signed in, protect your account, limit misuse of our free tools and forms, keep your place in the valuation tool and on checklists, and remember your cookie choice. The law allows us to use them without asking, because they are strictly necessary for a service you have asked for. You can block them in your browser settings, but sign-in and parts of the site will then stop working.

Analytics cookies, only with your consent
Analytics help us understand which pages and tools people use, so we can improve them. We use one analytics provider at a time, and we load it only after you agree.
- If we use Plausible, it measures visits without cookies or persistent identifiers. Even so, we load it only after you agree.
- If we use PostHog, it sets a cookie named
ph_[project token]_posthog, which lasts one year by default, and stores related information in your browser's local storage. These hold a random identifier and session details, so visits can be counted and grouped.

If you agree to analytics, we also use the identifier in the loupe_aid cookie to count how many visitors who use our tools go on to create an account. If you do not agree, we use it only for the essential purposes listed above.
Cookies set by other services
Some actions take you to another service's page, which sets its own cookies under its own policy:
- signing in with Google or LinkedIn
- paying an invoice by card through Stripe or Paystack, where card payment is offered
We do not control those cookies. The provider's own cookie or privacy policy explains them.
Changing your choice
You can change your cookie choice at any time with the cookie settings link at the foot of every page. If you withdraw consent, we stop loading analytics from your next page view, stop linking your use of our tools to the identifier in the loupe_aid cookie, and remove the analytics cookies set on our domain where your browser allows it. Withdrawing consent does not affect analytics collected before you changed your choice.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers let you block all cookies, block third-party cookies only or clear cookies when you close the browser. If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to sign in.
How long we remember your choice
We remember your choice for six months. We will ask you again when that period ends, if you clear your cookies, or if we start using a new kind of optional cookie.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if the cookies we use change. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
